Who gets to turn ideas into reality, and why?

We like to think creativity is universally available. Ideas are free and anyone can have one. But having an idea and being able to turn it into real work are very different things.

Creative Privilege is the unequal access we have to the structures that make creative work possible. Those structures shape who can move from uncertainty into action, develop ideas, test them and keep going until something real exists.

Generative AI is rapidly changing who can make things. But increased access to powerful tools does not necessarily mean increased equality of creative opportunity. If Creative Privilege remains invisible, AI risks amplifying it.

I’ve been developing this idea since 2021. This site documents the framework as it evolves through research, teaching and practice.
